Activities:  
  • English Shepherd History presentation
  • Dog-related demos. Try out mushing (dog pulling) gear and learn about dry-land mushing and bike-joring. Other demos TBA.
  • Learn about volunteering for NESR. What is involved in evaluating, transporting, fostering, and coordinating. Get your questions answered.
  • English Shepherd Club information. What does the club do, what do volunteers do?
  • More ES knowledge than you can shake a stick at!
  • Good Ole Country Farm Dawg Theme” - Wear your jeans or overalls, straw hat or cowboy hat, your favorite bandanna, and bring your ES Shadows to Enjoy a Dawg Day Afternoon of Tail Waggin' Fun and Howlin' Good Times!
  • Camp Fire on Friday and Saturday nights - weather permitting.
  • Games (TBA).
  • Photo opportunities, including canine special guests (available for posing).

Live & Silent Auctions to benefit National English Shepherd Rescue.
Ticket drawing in the aid of the English Shepherd Club.
(Auction items may be mailed ahead of time to Alison Kerr.)


​Food & Drink:
Pot luck lunch
Main Dish, Lemonade, and Water provided by Hostesses.

Guests bring a side dish or dessert. Refrigerator and freezer space are available. Food items can be stored on-site from Friday evening.

Bring your own drink if preferred. Alcohol allowed but not provided.

Please remember to bring:
  • Folding chairs
  • Your own water bottle and favorite cup
  • Food and food bowl, crate, leash, training aids and treats, poop bags for your dogs
  • Small items or baskets to donate to the auction and drawing: crafts, dog toys and paraphenalia, gift certificates, as new household items.
  • If you bring books or magazines to swap, please take them back home when you leave if you do not find a new home for them.


Location Info:

Private Property: Carolyn's 40+ acre farm with a pond and buildings. Large barn - 30' x 30'. Small barn/shop with large refrigerator, 3 freezers, electricity and water. Porta potty.

No fenced exercise area for dogs; good recall, leashes, and crates are all welcome. Dogs can swim or cool off in the pond. There is no livestock and no outdoor cats. Three resident English shepherds.


Lodging:

For on-site camping please contact the organizers. Primitive tent camping by arrangement. Electricity and a water hose can be made available at the barn.
