Preparations for the July 7/8 Gathering in Red Lodge this year www.yellowstonedogsports.com … 100 acres, 2 ponds, and an indoor arena = FUN.

Mini Herding Clinic with Mary Peaslee: Registration is now open. Contact Barb Berry at agilitydogs @bresenan.net (no spaces) for a registration form or more information. Preference will be given to English Shepherds. Other breeds will be put on a waiting list. Working spots are limited and pre-registration is required.

Other activities include agility with Pam Kaye and Rachelle Jensen, tracking with Carol McQuade and Judy Strom, nosework and CGC with Judy Strom.

There are on-site rooms available for rent but they are filling up fast. Over half are reserved so if you would like to an on-site room contact Elaine @ yellowstonedogsports.com (no spaces) soon. RV and tenting spots are also available, contact Elaine to reserve a spot.

This is a Don't Miss event for folks with English Shepherds... meet friends (old and new) from around the country and enjoy Les' famous barbeque chicken! Camping is free at Maple Grove Farm.

Heather Houlahan will be holding an English shepherd Gathering at Brandywine Farm and the adjacent township park on June 11-12, 2011. You don't have to own an English shepherd to attend; fans and interested parties are always welcome. And your dog doesn't have to be an ES to attend -- all well-mannered dogs are invited.

Events will include:
  • Potluck and barbeque
  • Silent auction to benefit NESR
  • Canine Good Citizen testing
  • Possible stockwork clinic
  • Canine freestyle clinic
  • Presentations on breed history and conservation
  • Search and rescue demonstration
  • Stupid ES tricks contest
  • Movie night in the barn (We were going to hold a drunken barn dance, but the floor is a little uneven)
  • Agility opportunities

Tentative activities are:
On the 16th, barn yard agility course, herding, canine good citizen testing, a 5 acre off leash area w/trails and great food. There will also be a presentation on English Shepherd history by Mary Peaslee

On the 17th, an easy short Mountain hike in the Cascade Mts, stopping at Clear Lake for lunch and splashing in the lake.
