Working Trait Evaluation

Dog's name: Glimmercroft Tanner
<Pedigree: in ESCR database>
Owned by: Laura Workman

Background:
Tanner is a sable and white intact male born in April 2006 and evaluated at 4 years of age. He was brought up and lives on a small homestead, with daily access to livestock of widely varied types including cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, ducks and other poultry.

Tanner is cheerful and loving, and completely devoted to his owner. He is a very enthusiastic worker, always watching to see whether there is any way he can help, and often filling a need before his owner realizes she needs a hand. He has a good sense of the stock's flight zone, and will swing wide on his own in order to get in position to move stock in the desired direction. He also provides that extra push with the more challenging animals.

At times Tanner can be a bit too enthusiastic. It is helpful to do a bit of obedience drill just before working him to get him centered and paying proper attention to commands .
