Roslyn Wilkes, 1890:
An American bred Collie.
In addition to being an extremely
beautiful dog, Roslyn is very similar in type to English Shepherds -- which is not
surprising given that English Shepherds trace
their roots back to the same group of dogs which gave
rise to modern Rough Collie: the old working collies
of Great Britain and Ireland.

Nesta:
Nesta is another early Collie pictured in Watson's Dog
Book.
She was somewhat smaller than a typical modern English Shepherd,
but similar in type to some of the early black/tan dogs.
